The Korea Foundation has recently published “Modern Korean Artists,” the second volume of our Selections from Koreana series, which seeks to introduce Korea’s notable contemporary artists and their artistic pursuits.
“Modern Korean Artists,” a compilation of articles about contemporary artists from the quarterly magazine Koreana (2000-2008), offers an opportunity for readers to better understand and appreciate Korea’s modern arts, related to a variety of genres, ranging from the fine arts to Korean film.
Although the entire spectrum of Korea’s modern arts and artists cannot be fully dealt with in a single publication such as this, it does include a close-up look of several key figures who have contributed to advancement of the modern arts scene in Korea.
The Korea Foundation thus hopes that this volume will serve as a useful information resource for readers to reflect upon the achievements of Korea’s contemporary artists and to enrich their cultural diversity with unique aspects of Korean culture and arts.
Also, the book can be a memorable souvenir for visitors to Korea and an ideal gift item for anyone who would like to share their appreciation of Korean culture with family and friends.
