Description
Everyday people get their chance to sing and shine in the ensemble underdog comedy Born to Sing directed by Lee Jong Pil. Inspired by the long-running singing program Korea Sings the hilarious and heartwarming feature is the third film produced by famous comedian and TV host Lee Kyung Kyu following 2007's trot-themed Highway Star
Hair salon assistant Bong Nam (Kim In Kwon, Almost Che) won't give up his lifelong dream of singing, much to his wife Mi Ae's (Ryu Hyun Kyung, Petty Romance) frustration. His time finally comes when a famous television singing contest program decides to film in his hometown. Mi Ae's sister Hyun Ja (Lee Cho Hee, Bleak Night) also has to enter the contest under her boss's orders, and she gets some help from the coworker (Yoo Yeon Seok, A Werewolf Boy) she secretly likes. Bo Ri (child actress Kim Hwan Hee) is helping her grandfather (Oh Hyun Kyung) prepare for the show, but she has to leave the country soon. Mayor Joo Ha Na (Kim Soo Mi, Twilight Gangsters) is determined to appear on the program to drum up support for her upcoming election, but she can't actually sing.
