Description

One of Korea's few openly gay filmmakers, Leesong Hee Il has found both festival following and acclaim for his queer films, most notably the 2006 feature No Regret. The director continues to explore themes of desire and loneliness in his "One Night and Two Days" trilogy of queer melodramas, consisting of the feature and the shorts Suddenly Last Summer and Going South.

White Night
After two years away, flight attendant Won Kyu (Won Tae Hee, My Heart Beats) is back in Seoul for one night, and he does not want to spend it alone. He meets up with someone from a chatroom, but young bike courier Tae Joon (Lee Yi Kyung, School 2013) is looking for a meaningful relationship, not just a one-night stand. The encounter turns awkward, and a face from the past further awakens Won Kyu's painful memories of past trauma over the restless night. White Night is inspired by an actual hate crime case that occurred in Seoul's Jongno district, where the film is set.

Suddenly Last Summer
Gay high school teacher Kyung Hoon (Kim Young Jae) is caught in a bind when his student Sang Woo (Han Joo Wan) discovers his secret. Forward about his own sexual orientation, Sang Woo insists that Kyung Hoon spend the day with him. Torn between duty and desire, Kyung Hoon tries to resist his feelings but Sang Woo won't leave him alone.

Going Home
Ki Tae (Kim Jae Heung) and Jun Young (Jeon Shin Hwan) were close in the army but Jun Young, who has been discharged, now wants to break relations with Ki Tae. As he drives Ki Tae back to the base, Jun Young puts an end to their relationship and denies that there were ever any feelings between them. An increasingly desperate Ki Tae spikes Jun Young's drink, grabs the wheel and heads south.
