Description
Based on the award-winning Higashino Keigo novel Yogisha X no Kenshin that also inspired the 2008 Japanese blockbuster Suspect X, the 2012 Korean adaptation Perfect Number offers its own tense, thrilling retelling of the perfect murder cover-up. The second directorial effort from actress-director Bang Eun Jin (Princess Aurora), the mystery suspense shifts the focus to the perpetrator, Ryoo Seung Bum (The Unjust), in a gripping turn as a mathematician whose devotion to Lee Yo Won (May 18) drives him to orchestrate an elaborate crime to cover her crime. Jo Jin Woong (Nameless Gangster) co-stars as the dogged detective trying to get to the bottom of the meticulous mystery.
Math teacher Suk Go (Ryoo Seung Bum) is a lonely genius who only knows the world of numbers until the day single mother Hwa Sun (Lee Yo Won) moves in next door. To Suk Go, Hwa Sun is as pure and beautiful as math. One night, Hwa Sun's abusive ex-husband storms into her apartment, and in the ensuing struggle, she accidentally kills him. Determined to protect Hwa Sun and her daughter at all costs, Suk Go devises the perfect alibi and cover-up, selectively destroying and fabricating evidence to string the police along and lead them to the answer that he has created.
